This activity is a 1 hour live webinar-based program.
Program Description
Many factors can affect sports performance; some are under our control (e.g., diet, training), and others are not (e.g., aging, genetics). The impact of medication on sports performance depends on the medicine and the sport. Yet many providers and athletes aren’t aware of how a medication (prescription or OTC) may impact their performance in various ways. Pharmacists have a unique opportunity to identify medications that can potentially impact athletic performance. This program will discuss how some commonly used drugs alter sports performance, such as antibiotics, NSAIDs, antihistamines, diuretics, and antidepressants.
