We’re all here because we want to see sports pharmacy become an integral part of the healthcare landscape, giving teams and coaches a fighting shot at enhancing the health and performance of their top elite athletes.
Pharm.D and fitness instructor Dr. Brandon Welch created Pharmacy Athlete. Dr. Welch has been interested in performance training since he was 8 years old, and this interest led him to get a master’s degree in exercise physiology and kinesiology from one of the top 5 universities in the United States, with an emphasis on human performance (The University of Florida).
He also has a Ph.D. in Pharmaceuticals from the University of South Florida, where he studied biochemistry.
To put it simply, we make the world a better place for those who have a passion for fitness, whether they be professional trainers, coaches, their clients, or the general public.
For more than three decades, we have been at the forefront of the fitness industry, gaining a sterling reputation for our cutting-edge, science-based certification programs.
Robert P. Nickell, the CEO, was the first team pharmacist to represent the United States of America on the Olympic Medical Team, which he did in 2004 at the Summer Olympics in Athens. He was chosen because, since starting his company in 1995, he has consulted with more than eighty-five percent of all major American professional sports teams—including those in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB—on the safe and effective use of prescription medications.
We’re athletes at heart. We’re sports fans who love to train and compete.
